Henley & Tru were just the sweetest couple. From their first meeting to watching them try to deny their attraction, they were exactly the other needed.

I loved the storyline, and how seamlessly they fit into each other’s lives. The bond that Tru developed with Henley’s girls, and even his ex, was so heartwarming.

Just as in book 1, Mad Love, I absolutely adore the Single Dad Players club! Their banter is hilarious, and the love and support they show each other is amazing. I can’t wait for what comes next!

The audiobook was narrated by Savannah Peachwood & Sebastian York, and they did a fabulous job. This was such an easy listen, and their performances were full of emotion.

Willow Aster pens another fantastic novel set in “The Single Dad Playbook” series and I loved everything about it, from her impressive writing style and way with words, to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This is the second book of the series of standalone novels, and is just as amazing as the first book, “Mad Love”, and is Henley Ward’s story, a single dad of three daughters. Tru visited Silver Hills when she was younger and it left her with fond memories of the small town of Silver Hills and a good impression and the why moved there. Then she runs into him, Henley, and she feels an instant connection, and the man she never knew she was looking for, but the next time they meet does not go so well. Henley was fuming about what his daughter’s teacher said to her, went all papa bear on her to set her straight, except he goes off on the wrong teacher, the substitute, and even more surprising it was Tru, the woman he met at the supermarket. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out. It was great to watch Henley and Tru navigate a relationship, starting with his groveling to make things right. Tru was great with his daughters too, especially Cassidy, after she recognized her struggles. It was also great to see the single dads get together and add their entries into their playbook, and it is impossible to not love those guys and the camaraderie amongst them. This wonderfully plotted story not only captivated my attention the entire time, but it tugged on my heartstrings, too. Willow Aster, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride, loved all the drama, the charm and the witty dialogue too. 

🎧📚🎧 Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood are superbly talented voice artists and a joy to listen to.They did an amazing job portraying these characters, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role. Ms. Peachwood aced it as Tru, showcasing all aspects of her personality and demeanor, and Mr. York did the same as Hanley and was just as fabulous. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters, including the children’s roles. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already wonderful story to another level.

Single dad romance is one of favorites, and this series is pushing all the right buttons. Henley is a single dad to three girls. Good friends with his ex, they co-parent together, but while she has moved on, he is concentrating on his kids and career. When he bumps into Tru at the store, the sparks fly, but what is the chance he would see her again? Small towns have that tendency to see people more than once and when she turns up as his daughter's substitute teacher, the heat is turned up. Our story begins! What did I love? I love the focus on reading and identifying a problem. I love the relationship Henley has with his ex wife, and showing a great example to his kids. I love that age is just a number. And I love that it's never too late to find your soulmate. It's fun and flirty, it's sensual and exciting, and it's sweet and family oriented. It could not be a better mix and made my ears very happy.

Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York are the story tellers and boy do they bring this one alive! Peachwood is so good as Tru. She is spot on as a caring teacher, and supportive and loving as a partner. Love her interaction with the kids and Henley! York is Henley, the warmhearted dad, the sensual lover and the aging athlete. These two give all the feels and made for a wonderful listen.

Hooked from chapter one. Love this world and all the characters. I was grinning through so many of the single dad interactions. I related to so many things in this story and had me all up in my feelings. It was an amazing read. Highly recommend it.

What a swoony and emotional romance.
I absolutely love Henley, he is such a swoony, sweet, and loving guy. I love how much he loves his girls, and puts them first.
I am so here for the chemistry and passion between Henley & Tru. They are so sweet together, I love their openness & honesty.
This was full of banter, friendship, passion, love, empathy, emotions, heartache and hope.
I can’t wait for book 2.
Sebastian York & Savannah Peachwood both did such a great job narrating this story.

This is the second book in The Single Dad Playbook Series, a small town romance. I loved it! Henley and Tru's story is beautifully written, sweet, and engaging. I liked the friendship in the story. Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood did an excellent job bringing these characters, and this story to life. This is a beautiful single dad romance. I enjoyed it.

Secret Love By Willow Aster is book 2 in The Single Dad Playbook series and the next dad in the group to get his romance is Henley Ward. Henley is a football star and single dad to 3 girls Cassidy,Audrey and Gracie He is divorced but he and Bree remain good friends and co-parent the 3 girls equally. Tru Seymor is new in town she is the new English teacher and is a Cat Mum to an adorable kitten,When she first meets Henley they are just shopping and have a little bit of flirting going on...but thats it they both don't think they will see eachother again. Their second meeting doesn't go so well..Mistaken Identity has Henley believing Tru is the teacher who is picking on his daughter Cassidy.Of course Tru puts Henley in his place and calls him out on it and she now thinks he is a big jerk. Cassidy is the one who kind of brings them together in a good way as Tru notices that Cassidy is struggling with her reading suspecting that she has Dyslexia. So working closely with Cassidy Tru becomes close to the whole family including Henley and realises he isn't the angry ogre she thought he was. Their attraction grows and the chemistry has not gone away since they first met at the grocery store,and Henley redeems himself in Tru's eyes. But it is not all smooth sailing with their new romance,as Tru does have father issues her Dad is not a good man he is emotionally abusive to her and her Mum...But seeing how Henley is with his daughters makes her have faith that not all dads are like hers. I loved the relationship Henley has with his daughters and his team mates..One of my favourite parts of the story is the text messages Henley has with his team mates and fellow single dads...I am already in LOve with those single dads and can't wait for their books. I have to say Henley is like the perfect man and such a fantastic dad I guarantee you will fall in love with him. Tru is a sweet girl she is strong and stands up for herself she is a great teacher and is so kind and patient with everyone. They also have the forbidden aspect of their relationship as Tru is Cassidy's teacher and Henley is the father to her student so there is a fear for her that if found out she will lose her job. Then there is the fact that Henley comes as a package he has 3 girls to consider and their approval of his new relationship is important to him and Tru..lets just say not everyone is happy. So this is a romance with alot of obstacles in the way and an unexpected blip that changes Henley for a little bit because his life is turned upside down. The narration to this story is EXCELLENT.! First of all you can't really go wrong with Sebastian York he is always amazing and along with Savannah Peachwood they are a great team to tell this story. They bring all the characters to life perfectly the emotion,the humour and the passion they bring has you completely entranced. I LOved and enjoyed listening to their performances..Brilliant. Willow Aster has written a sweet,romantic and steamy story that is so heartwarming and makes you feel good after listening. I really enjoyed the time I spent listening to this book. Fabulous. 5 Stars.

4 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

I am really loving this series. This group of single dads are amazing characters and provide the best book boyfriends. This time we get to follow Henley and Tru. While the romance between the two feels organic, the storyline provides so many speed bumps along the way, my interest never wavered and I still felt like I was hanging on every word. Henley’s girls were adorable and his relationship with his ex-wife was amazing and beautiful to read. This story felt like so much more than a typical romance, it was a great family story as well.

The narrators were outstanding!! Both did an amazing job voicing multiple characters and I had no issue listening to this for hours at a time. There were such a wide range of emotions through this story and each narrator performed them flawlessly bringing such life to this audiobook!

The friend to family bond of these men gets me every time. I know a romance story is about a couple, but their bromance is everything! The way they always have each others back, the way they always know what to say in their magical playbook (because yes, it is magical. It never fails that the answer to the question will inevitably appear in the book at exactly the right time.), and the way they all dote on each other’s family. Ok, enough about the guys, this is about Tru & Henley. These two are such a perfect fit, right from the start. Henley is the ultimate cinnamon roll, and boy does he have it bad with so many females in his life. He is wrapped around each of their fingers and it’s adorable. The chemistry between Tru & Henley set off like fireworks from that first grocery store encounter. She set her sights on a cinnamon roll that day and never looked back! This story has everything you could possibly want. Great friendships, doting fathers and plenty of heat. Tru may have some hard and fast PDA rules, but in private these two are an inferno. I am fully on board for the entire playbook crew because you know each story is gonna leave with a loving glow.
The audio is done superbly, bringing you right into the story. Giving you all the tingles.

I have been patiently waiting for book 2 after really enjoying the first in the series. Henley and Tru gave me what i was looking for in a single dad, age gap romance. It was great to be back with the gang and the Single Dads Playbook. I enjoyed how the story panned out especially with the Dyslexia representation, it was handled well and it was good to see this subject approached in a story. I also appreciated the postive vibes between the blended family aspect of the story, it was good to see that no one was painted as the bad guy in the situation. The audio was really enjoyable I found myself getting easily lost in the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York. Both really gave the characters some depth and helped bring them to life. I cant wait to get back in with the gang in book 3.
