About this listen
The adventures of the Shaman continue!
Daniel Mahan, the legendary Shaman of the Barliona game world, has served his sentence in virtual reality. Eleven months of adventures and battles in exchange for eight years in prison isn't a bad trade-off. And yet Barliona refuses to relinquish its grip on the Shaman so easily, erasing the boundary between his two realities. It turns out that it's not so simple to leave the capsule - the Way must be completed....

Absolutely captivating story

At first, I was dissappointed with the quite sudden ending, the lack of tidying up of other plots previously introduced and the strange lack of a decent epilogue except those two minutes.
HOWEVER, upon considering the series as a whole and how the other books went, I had to admit to myself it was pretty much exactly what I should have expected.
The shaman had his story end with satisfaction, the important parts of the story were dealt with and like all the other books, the ending was a rush of sudden changes that you didn't see coming without some serious premonition capacity except for one or two elements.
Ultimately, though it would have been nice for some plot to be fulfilled, like the eye of the widow or some anime styled power-up to defeat some great enemy, I had to admit that's not what this series was ever about. The main character always used his wit, his mind and with a little help from his friends.
So I think this was a good story and to anyone interested in finalising the story, just remember clearly what the other books have been like and you won't cry about it. Mahanenko never really pretended this was going anywhere else.
a fitting end to what the series really was.
