Summary
It's every bride's worst nightmare, to be left standing at the altar. But that's what happens to Gemma on her wedding day. Her fiancé, Finn, isn't there when she arrives at the church.
Everyone thinks Gemma has been jilted. Snippets of gossip circulate among their guests. They'd seemed like the perfect couple. They were so ideally matched. It just shows, you never can tell, can you?
But Gemma is certain Finn would never have done this to her. So where is he?
In the days after what should have been their wedding, Gemma frantically searches for Finn. Meanwhile her family and friends believe there must have been clues she has missed, but each milestone memory from their past that Gemma examines just convinces her there is more to Finn's disappearance than a groom who has simply changed his mind. Could Finn's past once again have sabotaged his future?
How long should you keep searching for someone you love, if they don't want to be found?

Gripping and heartfelt
Although I found it a little slow going at first when I got into it the story was fantastic. It did bring me to tears a couple of times too. Well written, imaginative and so heartfelt.

An emotional rollercoaster
Six Days pulls all the emotional heartstrings! The devastation felt by Gemma when Finn fails to turn up at the altar is just so palpable. She is understandably crushed, but resolved to find out what has happened to him. Through all the doubts of family and friends, Gemma refuses to believe she has been jilted and holds fast to the fact that something must be wrong. Yet, this isn't the first time Finn has disappeared. We are taken back to the early years of their relationship, but Gemma feels that is all past. With each revelation, we begin to doubt, however, Gemma heartbreakingly holds fast to her belief in Finn and remains steadfast over the course of six gruelling days of searching. Despite being despicable ghosted by Finn, things are not so simple. There are deep seated issues to resolve. A lack of communication is at the root, but truths come rushing to the surface by the finale. This book will wring you out, but is full of such love and hope. Special mention must go to Gemma's best friend Hannah, who is an amazing support and adds such light relief and holds her friend together. Things are rarely as simple as we assume and this book takes us into the difficulties beneath the surface of our lives, into those shady areas of grey between the black and white. I didn't want to out this book down as I frantically held on to discover the mystery of Finn. Six Days will hook you and reel you straight in. #sixdays #daniatkins #netgalley

Average from Dani Atkins
A good overall listen but not one that you can't put down. I found it a bit slow in places and not the most realistic of stories. I did enjoy Six Days and would recommend a listen. Well narrated by Charlie Sanderson.

*Breathtakingly Beautiful*
This is a tale about Gemma who loves to write and wants a creative writing job in journalism. On going for the interview in the car park waiting for a space and someone as bold as brass drives into it, don’t you just hate that? They have a few cross words that seem to roll off his back and of course he has to run because he has an interview. Gemma does too. Well she finds out his name is Finn and there is a comical moment when she acts out a mock up of what she would say in the interview, she thinks she is alone while she is waiting in a room only for him to walk in probably thinking she is talking to herself as she pretends to shake someone’s hand lol 🤣🤣🤣
That aside to cut a long story short they go on a date. The date comes to a halt when he announces he is going to Australia as he has managed to secure some funds that enable him to write. Saddened by this Gemma decides to randomly turn up at the airport before he leaves. They say goodbye but there is definitely a spark between them.
Over time he is back in the U.K. and they start to date. Things go from strength to strength until the day of the wedding.
The six days detail what happens because he didn’t show. Armed with the knowledge that Finn has a habit to self sabotage relationships or anything good that happens to him. Is this the case? While others think he had cold feet, Gemma is the lone voice believing that this is not the case. She bombards the police and virtually everyone wants her to get on with her life but she knows better in her heart as others roll their eyes.
We get two points of view from Gemma & Finn, will her dogged determination pay off? Or will she have to draw a line in the sand and find a way to heal her heart.
This book touched my heart, Dani Atkins’s writing especially her descriptions of emotions really moved me.

Really annoying narrator
I did not finish this book because of the narrators really annoying delivery. She ends all the sentences with an elongated consonant, especially bad with “s” and “t” “ he said yessssss”. Drove me insane!!!
