Always a little skeptical when there is a 9 book box set for one credit but I was pleasantly surprised.

Story follows Zed and Murphy through the apocalyptic aftermath is an infection and is centred around Austin Texas. Unlike with many multi book epics the story telling sticks with Zed the whole time. There have been many long booksets I have read where the suspense is ruined as the story keeps jumping between different groups. That's not the case with this book and each chapter continues where the previous one left you.

There were probably a couple of unnecessary encounters within the storeyline that didn't necessarily add value to the storey, but nevertheless it was a totally enjoyable adventure and I would recommend to anyone who likes this type of genre..

One welcome addition worth mentioning was the fact that the "zombies" aren't really zombies at all. They are simply infected humans and they can die with the same mortal wounds that others humans can. So there are no dismembered animanmted corpses dragging themselves along with only their remaining arm! Obviously this is still sci-fi but slightly more realistic than the unkillable zombies type of book.

Highly recommended and WELL WORTH your credit!
