About this listen
The Merry Band of Pirates stopped the enemy from stealing a Sentinel, and destroyed its Elder starship, so why weren’t the Pirates planning a victory party?
The enemy was not what they thought it was.
It was much, much worse.
They had not a single clue how to defeat that enemy, or how to fight it, or whether fighting it was even possible. Only one thing was certain: the Pirates couldn’t handle this fight alone.

I’m one happy filthy monkey
Words cannot describe just how much I love these books. I was gutted when I thought the story had ended and literally jumped for joy when it was announced there would be more. There was/is so much more to the story and I for one will buckle up and brace myself for the ride. Thanks Craig Alanson for bringing the awesomeness into my life and thanks RC Bray for bringing skippy, joe and the rest of the MBoP to life with your stellar performance

Review for the whole series
I started listening to The Expeditionary Force series of books in early March 2024, as I type its midday 17/10/2024, and quickly decided I was going to listen to them all one after the other. 7 months later I just finished Task Force Hammer.
It'll come as no surprise from my ratings that I loved all 19 books, 17 full books and 2 .5's, and that is as much because of the narrator as it is the content. Before I buy a book to listen to I have to get on with the voice of whomever is narrating it and with R.C. Bray, they picked a good un. I will be actively going through his narration catalogue now to find more to listen to.
I will admit, I hated the Skippy character when he was first introduced and did think for a while he may put me off continuing to listen after Columbus Day but I stuck with him and he really grew on me. Yes he is annoying, and sometimes his distractions infuriated me, but of course, without Skippy there wouldn't be, currently, 19 books to listen to.
Despite my initial loathing of Skippy there wasn't a single character, that I can remember, that I wished hadn't been introduced with my 2 favourite characters being Scorandum & Kinsta. I'm hoping we get more of them, and their interactions, in the future.
I don't know what to listen to now. For 7 months every time I was in the car, cooking food, mowing the lawn and going for a walk somewhere I would be listening to the adventures of Bishop and Skippy and now I'm at a bit of a loss. To be fair Craig Allanson does appear to be quite the prolific writer so hopefully he has plenty more ideas for this series of books.
The biggest praise I can give for these books is at some point in the future I will listen to them again.
I hate writing reviews.

repeat
it does seem to repeat a lot of the stuff from previous books it's like they didn't have enough of a new story so filled it with suff we already knew. and ford myself knowing what they was gonna say before they said it. don't get me wrong I love these books and own every single one.

Wow, just wow…
Just when I thought the Joe Bishop saga had nothing left to tell, Then Alanson and Bray serve up this. Absolutely fantastic. All the usual Segway’s and shenanigans and an awesome story arc to boot. Very much looking forward to the next book.

A very gripping tale, that shows a great breath characters
A good story, great humour and gripping ending. This is a brilliant accompaniment to the events of Aftermath. I've enjoyed watching these characters grow, got to wait till 2025 for the conclusion :)
