Steeped in a history of award-winning Yorkshire ale, the town of Markham boasts not one but two breweries. Richard Foster runs one; his sister, Emily, along with her partner, Janice, runs the other. And not without some resentment.

With Markham’s beer industry at stake, a killer on the loose and the town’s residents out for blood, Oldroyd needs to solve the murder before someone else is killed…

I’ve read and enjoyed all the books in the series. They keep you interested and the main characters are interesting especially as you follow them as their lives develop from book to book. This is the first audio book in this series I’ve listened to. The story was just as good as usual but I found the narration a little difficult at time. To me all the character voices sounded very similar and the non Yorkshire accents didn’t really work.

Nothing negative. The humour is brilliant and Alison always creeps in the story and helps to solve it without knowing

The relationship between the detectives

I like the way the characters are true to the other books, the dialogue is always interesting and when you are hearing about the scenery you can picture yourself there. Story was a little predictable but very good.

I really look forward to every new book in the series and they never disappoint!! The stories are always full of excellent facts and lots of twists and turns and there are always brilliant curve balls!! The characters lives continue to unfold in interesting ways and as always I love Michael Page’s honest and fab narration!! Back to looking forward to the next now……. 😊😊

However I do find it far fetched that every case Oldroyd deals with involves a serial killer. I don’t know how he puts up with such a bossy partner. They’ve only just got together and she dictates every aspect of his life. Excellent narration as always
