Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

This audiobook in The Thursday Murder Club series is read by a new narrator, Fiona Shaw.

A new mystery is afoot in the third book in the Thursday Murder Club series from record-breaking, bestselling author Richard Osman.

This audiobook includes an exclusive interview between Richard Osman and journalist and TV presenter Steph McGovern.

It is an ordinary Thursday, and things should finally be returning to normal.

Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A local news legend is on the hunt for a sensational headline, and soon the gang are hot on the trail of two murders, ten years apart.

To make matters worse, a new nemesis pays Elizabeth a visit, presenting her with a deadly mission: kill or be killed...

While Elizabeth grapples with her conscience (and a gun), the gang and their unlikely new friends (including TV stars, money launderers and ex-KGB colonels) unravel a new mystery. But can they catch the culprit and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again?

Alright we get it people don't like change...

It's great. All the naysayers are just moaning as they don't like change. Fiona is a great actress and by the time you're a few chapters in you'll forget the change. Listen to the story and for goodness sakes until you've published 3 books and had them recorded as audio books just stfu being so negative.

Just follow the story and see how it works

It may take some time to get used to fiona’s narrating but you won't be disappointed at all! Her expression and performing are blooming, especially in the middle of story. And this episode was connected so well with sources of the previous case. Unexpected but Still Enjoyable!

Great story, hope Richard does write 12!

Loved the book, wish he'd written the next! the plot has twists and turns as you would expect but I would never have guessed what would happen. Also great to have interview at the end to hear how the books are written and some background information about Richard Osman.

Fabulous

I love these characters and this book didn’t disappoint. I had expected Lesley Mannville to be narrator as on previous two books which I’d adored but Fiona Shaw is absolutely superb too. The humour, the observations- pure escapism. Being of a certain age myself I find it thrilling that it can be know- older people have had lives and what’s more still have life in them - though we perhaps don’t all go out solving murders!

Get over yourselves...

Firstly, the book was great. Brilliant overall plot and the ever growing personal relationships are brilliant. Ibrahim and Ron's nephew, Elizabeth and Joyce; best friends! Stephen and Bogdan, Donna and Chris. I could go on for days here!

But let's discuss the elephant in the room. Narration.
I was a little put out when I realised Lesley wasn't narrating, but I soon got over it. Fiona Shaw did a great job to be honest. After a couple of chapters I forgot.
If I could change one thing, it would be Chris' accent, but I think the one star reviews are petty and pathetic. Exactly the people you wouldn't want to be stuck in a broken lift with.

Good story

I’m a Fiona Shawn fan but this felt like listening to Fiona Shaw tell an after-dinner story to a bunch of 10 year olds. The words slur a little and it’s a little too breathy all the way through. It’s somehow less immersive than the previous two books as a result which is a shame, as the story has more intrigue than book 2.

Another great listen

Loved this book.Sure the narration is different but Fiona Shaw is great. Even better after second listen! New characters, wonderful observations and moments of sadness and camaraderie! What more could you want.

Excellent Narration

I loved this book and I cannot believe the amount of negativity and petulance due to the change of narrator. I really enjoyed the previous audiobooks read by the excellent Lesley Manville. Clearly she wasn’t available and, although it wouldn’t be easy to take over the narration at this stage, Fiona Shaw has done a brilliant job.

I Loved this book!

Another caper with Elizabeth, Joyce Ibrahim and Ron.
It was a joy a minute with a new love interest for some and old love rekindled for others.
I listened to this over just one day then re read it again as I didn’t want to let these wonderful characters go.
I loved Fiona Shaw narrating this story.
