Summary

"Lily?" My stomach dropped as a tall, dark-haired man stepped into view. Had he been hiding between the trees? "No. Sorry." Gulping, I took a step back. "I'm not Lily." He shook his head, a satisfied grin on his face. "No. You are Lily." "I'm Summer. You have the wrong person."

You utter freak! I could hear my pulse crashing in my ears. How stupid to give him my real name. He continued to stare at me, smiling. It made me feel sick. "You are Lily," he repeated. Before I could blink, he threw his arms forward and grabbed me. I tried to shout, but he clasped his hand over my mouth, muffling my screams. My heart raced. I'm going to die.

For months, Summer is trapped in a cellar with the man who took her - and three other girls: Rose, Poppy, and Violet. His perfect, pure flowers. His family. But flowers can't survive long cut off from the sun, and time is running out....

Loved the storyline

Really loved the whole concept of the book, I was never bored and always gripped and read it very quickly. BUT. Was not a fan of the readers and was really disappointed with how rushed the ending felt.
That being said- thoroughly enjoyed it.

Addictive!

Started listening to this book Saturday and finished it by Monday. This was my first audible book. First of many! Really enjoyed it. Gripping with suspense. Addictive. Certainly kept me occupied ! Highly recommended. Think I’ll read another of her books.

Gripping story

Couldn’t stop listening, was dying to know what was going to happen. Nearly googled the ending because I was so intrigued but I managed to stop myself!
Didn’t like the narration unfortunately but got over it. It was very stilted.

Did not grab me!

Probably would not read anything else from this author again. The actual story was interesting but the way of telling it was very week. Everything was stated as a matter of fact. That's life... just get on with it.
Norrators were good.

Could have been better .

I felt the ending was rushed , not much was resolved , nothing much really happened summer was written to have had long lasting trauma which is understandable but we could have dive a lot more into her slow descent into it …

The story is one of my favourites

But. The voice actor sounds like Siri is reading it to you and I just can’t sit through it.

Worst reader ever!

The story is okay. Lots of holes in it. I've no idea how I finished it. The reader was just awful. The conversations the characters have were so cringe. And the fact the main character is.. 16, 17? The way she talks about her relationship with her boyfriend you'd think they been married years. I wish I didn't waste a credit on this.

Robot voice narration!

Really disappointed in myself for pushing through the narration in the hopes of a good twist that didn’t happen!

a monotone narrator

Sounds like the narrator has just finished learning to read. The story however was good
