About this listen

A family secret. A century of heartache . . .

The Girl on the Cliff is an evocative, moving story of family, loss and hope, from Lucinda Riley, the international bestselling author of The Seven Sisters series.

After a devastating loss, Grania Ryan flees her life as an artist in New York and returns home to Ireland and the arms of her loving family.

While out walking the windswept cliffs of West Cork, she comes across Aurora, an enigmatic eight-year-old girl. Mysteriously drawn to the troubled child, Grania soon discovers that the histories of their families are strangely and deeply entwined.

From a bittersweet romance in wartime London, to betrayals and close-guarded family secrets, the two families, past and present, have been entangled for a century.

Can Aurora help Grania to come to terms with her loss, and look forward to a brighter future?

FANTASTIC, No.1 in my all time top 5.

Fabulous story, I could not stop listening, I didn't want the story to end.
The narrator was brilliant with accents and really made the story come to life.

Interesting story line

Did not like the reason she left Matt, a weak and unbelievable reason for someone portrayed as caring. That made me exasperated and spoilt the story as in my opinion it seemed silly .
otherwise a gentle read and I enjoyed it for the most part.

Entertaining

Superb narration. Jessica has an amazing ability to capture such a variety and tone for each character and narrates with great enthusiasm and style.

The story is good and has some great descriptions of people and their foibles. However, like another listener, the reason for the break up from Matt was flimsy at best and not in character for the caring and empathetic Grania.
And no explanation for Aurora’s condition??? It left the ending a little flat.
Worth listening to.
