About this listen

From Lucinda Riley, the beloved author of the Seven Sisters series, The Love Letter is a thrilling adventure of secrets, lies and unforgettable twists.

'Travel back to 90s London with this expose of dark secrets . . . twists galore' – Best Magazine

Keeping secrets is a dangerous game . . .

1995, London. Sir James Harrison was one of the greatest actors of his generation. But, when he passes away, he leaves behind more than just a heartbroken family. He leaves a secret so shocking, so devastating that it could rock the English establishment to its very core . . .

Joanna Haslam is an ambitious young journalist, assigned to cover the legendary actor’s funeral. The great and the good of the celebrity world are there. But Joanna stumbles on something dark beneath the glamour: the mention of a letter Sir James left behind, the contents of which have been desperately concealed for over seventy years.

As Joanna peels back the veil of lies that has shrouded this secret, she realizes that there are other forces at work – forces that would prevent her from discovering the truth. And they’ll stop at nothing to reach the letter before she does . . .

Brilliant narration

It felt like this book was never ending. Just when you thought it had come to an end it started up again. How many characters were “killed off” and then bought back again? It was a stretch too far and made me irritated. Generally I love Lucinda Riley books but this one was not one of her best. A lot of the storyline felt like filler to pad it out. Disappointed.

On and on it went
