Summary

Now a film starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell, globally bestselling author Sally Thorne's hilarious workplace comedy is all about the fine line between love and hate.

Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman sit across from each other every day...and they hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate.

Lucy can't understand Joshua's joyless, uptight approach to his job and refusal to smile. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy's overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and desire to be liked. Now they're up for the same promotion, and Lucy, usually a determined people pleaser, has had enough: it's time to take him down.

But as the tension between Lucy and Joshua reaches its boiling point, it's clear that the real battle has only just begun....

This best-selling, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy is an unmissable treat, perfect for fans of Christina Lauren's Unhoneymooners or Emily Henry's Beach Read.

ALL MY LOVE!

Holy hell. This book is everything I didn't know I needed in life. Totally predictable in places, in the BEST way possible. The plot, the characters, the narration, everything was perfection. I went on an emotional rollercoster throughout this novel and I was Truly invested in Luce and Josh from the off and their journey. Well worth a read, or a listen!

Pretty good

Narrator was great, however, struggled to finish the second half of the book, slightly lost its momentum

Nothing new or special imo

The blurb is definitely interesting and this book pops up often on my ‘recommended lists’. I was really excited for it but it started off okay, a little bit silly. Do they hate each other? Definitely not, they’re just sort of childish. The password but was immature imo, sort of moment where you roll your eyes. The build up was pretty quick, goes from ‘hating’ each other to kissing in a lift. I also appreciate that Josh is good looking but GOD do we go on and on about it. The lift kiss was so unexplored as well. It seemed to go from ‘I hate Josh’ to ‘I have a crush on him’ to ‘I love him’. It was very cut and dry.

There were some moments where I just felt cringey to even listen. When Lucy is yelling at Josh’s dad, in his ‘blue eye’ bedroom or in the sex scene when she described hearing the condom being opened in detail 😂

However it was an easy read, predictable but okay.

Such a lovely story

Enemies to lovers at its best. If you love romance and you love office drama this is the book for you. Lucy and Josh are perfect and I’m sad the book has finished I could have listen for hours more. Lovely narration and an all round goodie, would recommend highly.

Fatphobic

The film is actually better. It removes a lot of the problematic behaviour . The book is fairly fatphobic too.
