Excellent Introduction to Mindfulness for all Stages of Pregnancy
This book was more than I thought it was going to be. I have previously tried to engage with mindfulness practice and to do this through the lens of conception pregnancy and labour was a really helpful anchor for me.
This book was reassuring and genuine without being preachy or too restrictive.
I feel like I have learnt some skills that will genuinely help in life, not just pregnancy and understand this view of mindfulness much clearer than before.

Really therapeutic for pregnancy
I found this book was really good as a first timer, just hearing someone speak about the anxieties that come up. It was for me more a gateway into other things such as hypnobirthing.

A good listen but not different enough for me...
What did you like best about The Headspace Guide to...A Mindful Pregnancy? What did you like least?
This is a decent listen, however it can be summed up succinctly as "meditation is a great thing to do, and headspace is a great app to guide you". If you meditate, it will help you in all areas ofyour life, but different techniques do target different things so the meditations are useful. Some reassuring bits in there about thoughts not being the definer of your existence. That's a very useful thing to know and remember at all times of your life, but especially during the more stressful ones!
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
No ending really as this wasn't a story...
Did Andy Puddicombe and Jane Collingwood do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?
Not applicable
Was The Headspace Guide to...A Mindful Pregnancy worth the listening time?
Yes it was
Any additional comments?
Worth a listen if you fancy it, some useful anecdotes in there from various ppl too

Fantastic!
I dont usually write reviews if im honest but this book resonated with me so much! It allows you to not be overjoyed your pregnant, to not feel guilty with not enjoying pregnancy ! Basically it was practical ways to increase mindfulness in pregnancy without expecting you to feel a certain way!
Loved it!

Not good
It repeats again and again what mindfulness is, without actually offering any or helping you in any way, couldn’t listen past the first hour. I’d like my credit back

Written by a man
Sorry but it annoyed me to hear a cis man telling me about pregnancy. I bet he has good intentions and he probably has helped a lot of people but this not the book for me right now.

Not fussed on this.
A little bit patronising at times, I was not overly impressed, unfortunately. Didn’t listen beyond chapter 14

I didn’t like it
I found the male narrators voice harsh and patronising.
I wanted to listen to this to calm me as I’m quite anxious in early pregnancy. However I didn’t find it relaxing to listen to, his voice grated on me and I had to turn it off.

Wouldn't recommend
Felt like one long ad for the Headspace app which, incidentally, I've tried and as someone who likes meditation- didnt get on with it. Was expecting a book based around pregnancy mindfulness/hypnobirthing approach and didnt get that at all. Not sure who the target audience is but if you're looking for mindfulness and happen to be pregnant, go for your bog standard mindfulness approach - this didn't allow me to gain anything.
