Summary
The moment she sees Caitlyn, wearing her ‘bride-to-be’ sash and brimming with excitement, it hits her. She hates Caitlyn. She knows who she is – what she’s really hiding. And the temptation to do something about it is too strong to resist…
It sickens me, the way they all think she’s so perfect. I plaster a fake smile on my face – all I have to do is pretend I’m enjoying the next few days. It shouldn’t be so hard. After all, I’ve been lying for years.
But I hadn’t counted on the secrets that everyone else has been keeping for so long. None of these women are what they seem: sisters, in-laws, friends and bridesmaids. Especially not the bride.
One of us won't survive the trip. And one of us, will become a killer...

incredible for just one thing
it abruptly ended which I didn't like. I wanted to hear about how things ended up with everyone etc. I didn't like the fact it just suddenly ended but other than that it was amazing.

Very Unbelievable
Very bizarre story, a group of friends go to a remote location for a hen do, which it seems none of them want to be there, or even like the bride to be. The bride to be dies in suspicious circumstances, yet no one seems bothered. They make breakfast, have a gin and just carry on until they eventually decide to call the police, and none of them want to tell her fiance as he has an important work meeting that they don't want to disturb!!!
The ending was actually quite good though!

WOW
I enjoyed listening to Naomi Rose-Mock
Full of twists and turns, That is one Hen Party , I do not want to go to . The Bride is murdered and not one of the Hens care. The fast pace ,everyone has a motive or an axe to grind, add in money, sex and long lost secret boyfriends, the police have their work cut out to find the culprit or culprits!
Oh the ending
Loved

Another stunning book
Maria has done again an incredible book with many twists and turns often when you read a book you guess what the end is going to be but I can honestly say with this one I didn’t the narrator was amazing to! Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down and I’m just waiting for the next one

Good story
This was a really good story with an end I didn't see coming, which was a nice surprise. I wasn't too keen on the narrator but that has no effect on my rating of the novel. I will definitely read more by this author.

Really heart-breaking
Wow. It seemed to me like a lot of the women there were real b*tches. Not to mention the groom! A really sad story, good building tention and I didn't see the twist coming. Not badly narrated either, haven't heard this narrator before. Would recommend if you want a short thriller.

Loved this story. As with all of Maria franklands books it had me enthralled right up to the ending. Recommend to all.

Everyone has a motive, trust noone!
The Hen party follows an unlikely bunch of women, with little in common, all with grudges to bear and secrets to hide. This fantastic read follows Caitlyn and her nine hens on an alcohol fuelled weekend in Dublin. Recently, Caitlyn has had her fair share of heartache battling the big C, with a step daughter not keen on sharing her dad and in laws who aren’t shy at their distain for the upcoming union, the should be restful and fun weekend is covered in a cloud of tension and arguments that run deep.
Fast forward to the next morning and 10 have become 9, but who is to blame and who is the victim; the real victim. The fast pace and multiple points of view makes this read engaging and unputdownable. Everyone has a motive or an axe to grind, add in money, sex and long lost secret boyfriends, the police have their work cut out to find the culprit or culprits!
Full of twists and turns, this book leaves you wanting to read just one more page. It felt there was never a satisfactory place to stop for the night. Maria writes the dynamics of human behaviour, particularly the group of women excellently, I could almost visualise my own friends in the designated roles. Maria did a stellar job of peppering the book with enough details and information, true and false, to make you second guess your own conclusion and I for one, didn’t see the ending coming.
This was a brilliant 4.5 star read, my only, only criticism was the byline of: A death before marriage story with a shock twist; and that was purely because I spent the first part of the book waiting for the murder and in some ways rushed to it, but it did not detract of a cleverly, well written twist and turn tale of murder and revenge! Would definitely read more books by Maria

Really enjoyable - narration was brilliant
Yet again Maria has delivered - the narration just adds another element to the story and makes it so intense that I had to keep listening to the end of the story.
So fully recommend, especially in these cold wintery nights.
I was given a free copy by the author but this review is entirely my own.
