About this listen

He only had to do one thing. Love her family…
Matt Walker was a chancer; he'd spent his entire profession chasing the next job. His personal life took on a similar mantra; a succession of one-night stands and brief relationships. Life was slowly drifting him by.
Until one evening, in a hotel bar, following a fortuitous meeting with the quiet and unassuming Julia. She knew of an opportunity that would be the perfect fit for Matt; one he simply couldn't let go.
Not only did the subsequent interview provide him his with dream job; it would also be where he met the love of his life. Matt and Amelia spent each day working hand-in-hand, and every evening in premarital bliss.
Finally, Matt's life was taking shape. Following years of turmoil and heartbreak, the future looked full of promise and hope.
And then Amelia introduced him to her family…

New twist on a story line

Narration was acceptable for 20 a day smoker .. story was different for sure ..The very naive Matt left enough clues around for anyone to find!

A little far fetched…

I’m glad I persisted as I was initially put off by the narration, however, as the story developed it was clear that the narrator matched the persona of the main character. Although far fetched, the storyline kept me keen to find out ‘whatever is going to happen next!’ Definitely scope for part two, with the unresolved matter of the young person’s story.

Intriguing throughout

I found the narrator's voice to be a little harsh although it suited the personality of the main character. The story rattled along but was let down by an abrupt, illogical conclusion.

Great Story. Struggled With Narrator

Loved this story, kept me interested, however, I struggled with the narrator and he almost made me stop listening but im glad I stuck it out.

Building of tension

Loved the carefully thought through plot and the drip feed of information. Great characters too.

So absorbing, absolutely loved it!

Story flowed perfectly and kept me completely engrossed. I found myself thinking about the characters when I couldn’t access the book. This HAS to be made into a Netflix psychological thriller!

Gripping!!

Although the narrators voice took some getting used to I pushed on and found myself hooked!! Absolutely loved this book, couldn’t wait to listen daily and any opportunity I had. Loved it. Can’t wait for the next in the trilogy 😊
