About this listen

Can humanity survive on a new world?

On Eos, the last survivors of the Long Winter face their greatest challenge yet - and race to unravel the deepest secrets of the grid.

The last survivors of the human race escaped a ruined Earth. Their new homeworld - Eos - seemed perfect at first. Warm. Hospitable. Safe from the grid. But everything isn't as it seems.

The first colony of settlers - from the Carthage - have disappeared. Their settlement is still there, but everyone is gone. As James digs into the mystery of the lost colony, he discovers a series of spheres, buried on Eos. Are they the key to finding the lost colonists? Or are they responsible for their deaths?

Just as James is unraveling the secrets of the spheres, a storm hits Jericho City. Emma, recently elected mayor, struggles to lead her people to safety while James tries to make his way home. In the middle of the chaos, a new danger emerges - a threat no one saw coming.

With time running out to save the colonists, James and Emma face their hardest choice yet.

This veered off near the end and I thought the story had started midway through an alternate universe. Then the ending was quite quick and unexpected.

Odd conclusion

I really loved this third book in the series. The other two were very good but this one was fantastic. It took my brain a while to get my head around the explanation of what happened, near the end but it was so innovative. The narration was excellent.

Fantastic.

A great conclusion to an outstanding and captivating trilogy of one man’s drive for survival against the odds . A G Riddle is talented story teller that I will now look for other tittles.

Great story and mind blowing tale

ok I'm not going to say 'I got it at the end' , my little brain was pretty frazzled by it all, but, boy what a story. what a ride. I've enjoyed all three and I didn't see this coming at all. from starting a book i thought was going to be about a new ice age, I've been on a roller coaster trip. narrators were fantastic loved every minute of it. highly recommended

absolutely superb listen

I started this series with no real understanding of the story. I deliberately didn’t read any in-depth written descriptions and ignored reviews.
I’m glad I did. It heightened my enjoyment of the story and allowed me to appreciate it more & more as the story unfolded.
A great performance by both actors helped me become immersed within the tale.
The science was great, the humour was fun and relative to the theme.
A very enjoyable, entertaining experience. Well written by A.G Riddle I’m now looking for another title.

A Different Turn

one single thing is bothering me, that at the beginning James and a few other characters are basically stupid.
in the second half of the book it seems that they grow their brains back and it's ok

in a way predictable but satisfying

Really enjoyed the trilogy. Clever twists in the final book. Will be looking out for more books by this author.

Very clever!

That was a very nice surprise. The plot gets your brain all into a twist and makes you think of things that are a bit unfathomable.

The first book in the series was slow and uninteresting, but if the second wasn't also free I would never have come across this little marvel.

Well done Gerry! 😊🖖🏼

The story just gets better

As someone who reads n watches A LOT of scifi and constantly thinks about the possibilities with technology, I was still profoundly surprised by the plot here. Just when you think you've "seen it all" someone somewhere pushes the bounds of imagination further and shows you a new way of perceiving the world. No spoilers... you'll know what I mean when you read it.

Mind Blown.........
