Original

I was totally surprised, gave much food for thought. Very entertaining, good narration. The end was abit of a conundrum. . But loved it all the same.

LOVED IT! One of the best books I've had for a wh

I loved this book. Not sure exactly what it was that caused me to feel like this, I just know I could't stop listening and I didn't want it to end.

The way that the author gets into the mind of all the characters on this occasion is amazing, she really must have put alot of time and effort into coming up with complex back stories for them all and deciding how they all interloop with each other.

The plot is simple in places but that is good. No need to try to over complicate things, sometimes, the simplest way is the best.

We all have the one who we want to keep track off, see what their life is like and wonder how different it would have been with us in it, this book demonstrates how easy it is for someone we trust(ed) to manipulate us, to the point we no longer feel safe in our lives.

Very well written and thought out.

Another great book by Lucy Dawson, who is fast becoming a fave author of mine.

Pleasant easy listen

So you're a happily married woman, your husband wants to try for a baby, you kind of want a baby but at the same time you're scared of having a baby so you're playing for time. Then you bump into an old boyfriend and sleep with him because you are drunk. In the morning you wake up next to him and tell him it was a big mistake, but he still has the hots for you and begins stalking you relentlessly and you feel this will threaten what you already have with your much loved husband...

Meanwhile we hear all about your circle of friends and your family life, your brothers, mother and father, grandfather, nieces and nephews. We hear about your parents-in-law with whom you perhaps have a less agreeable relationship...and so it goes on.

Oh yes, and the suspense bit, we spend most of the book wondering whether our heroine will manage to save her marriage. (I won't spoil the ending.)

Everything brought to life and made real by the excellent performance by Karen Cass.

Average; saved by narrator

I am a Lucy Dawson fan but felt this book was not as good as her other books. Not much of a story for the first 1/3 of the book, and in my opinion only saved by the excellent narration of Karen Cass.

loved this audio book, I didn't want the story to end. The author has a way of getting the reader to connect with the characters.

Great story, weak ending

Just wish there was more the to ending. bit of a let down to follow her throughout this story to not get to be there when she explains everything. I was looking forward to his response and was disappointed not to get it. Good story all the same.

well performed

The writing was good, but the storyline depended on the main character making one bad decision after another. She seemed to have no insight into herself or anyone else. It was very well read though.

Excellent!

I loved this. The story is original, well written and compelling. The characters are well drawn and it moves along at a good pace. Karen Cass’ narration is great as always.

Odd

Spent the bulk of the book trying to work out the genre. I thought it was trying to be a farce but there was no humour! Very odd.
