A native of Mississippi, Thomas Harris began his writing career covering crime in the United States and Mexico, and was a reporter and editor for the Associated Press in New York City. His first novel, Black Sunday, was published in 1975, followed by Red Dragon in 1981, The Silence of the Lambs in 1988, Hannibal in 1999, and Hannibal Rising in 2006.
All the Hannibal Lecter books have been made into films, most notably starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. Sky has also produced a television series based on the notorious mass murderer, starring Mads Mikkelsen, Laurence Fishburne and Hugh Dancy.

excellent
I read this book when it first came out and have returned to it, wow I wasn't disappointed, fantastic story, brilliant narration with just the right pace, can't recommend this book enough

Exceptional audiobook
Exceptional thriller audiobook read by master narrator Frank Muller. Highly recommend. This is the special anniversary edition with introduction by author Thomas Harris. Perfect.

Brilliant book
I am a huge fan of the film and it turns out the film did the book a lot of justice. It's an intriguing, gripping tale, with excellent characters and pacing. I preferred it to Red Dragon as I found the characters more interesting and enjoyed there being a female lead. I recommend this audiobook to anyone who enjoyed the film, and to those who like a good thriller.

Excellent - shame about the audio quality
Thoroughly enjoyed this, listened at every opportunity. Narration was great but it was a shame that the audio quality was so bad. There was a constant hiss in the background which was hard to ignore once I'd noticed it, otherwise it would have been 5* all round.

Brilliant well worth a listen!
Brilliant second part of the trilogy. Better than the movie (in my opinion) if that's possible. Well worth a listen!!!

Constantly moving, lots of actions. Probably enough materials for more than one book, but very well interwoven story threads.

Polished professional narration, real depth and feeling.

Plenty of twists and turns, won't mention these as it would spoil it for others

Excellent, Just Like the Film
What made the experience of listening to The Silence of the Lambs the most enjoyable?
The story is exciting, with such vivid characters. I am a huge fan of the Anthony Hopkins film found it stuck with the book very closely.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Silence of the Lambs?
The parts speaking with Lecter. The narrator's voice comes very close to Hopkins' portrayal in the film.
Have you listened to any of Frank Muller’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No. But the story is well absorbed and I will remember this reading.

One Of The Best Ever
I decided to try the audiobook version of The Silence of the Lambs despite having read the book, which is one of my favourite of all time, and seen the film numerous times. I was not disappointed. The introduction by Thomas Harris himself was chilling and the narration by Frank Muller is one of the best I've ever heard. Highly recommended.

Fantastic book, well written and well acted!
