About this listen

A surprise baby, marriage of convenience, football romance

Football is my life. I’m not interested in marriage or babies or poopy diapers. Yet here I am, standing in front of a judge saying “I do,” with a six-month-old on my hip and an aspiring storm-chaser on my arm.

From the time I was a little boy, sleeping with my head on a football, I’ve had one goal: carrying on the Bradford-family legacy.

Our famous father trained all my older brothers and me to be star athletes just like him, but seven years later, I’m the only one still focused on the game.

Until Raven Gale storms into my life.

She’s smart, sassy, curves for days, and lightning in the sack. When I met her at my little sister’s wedding we bonded immediately over our dedication to our dreams, our determination to let nothing stop us, and our insatiable, all-night, barrier-busting chemistry.

A baby girl is a surprise neither of us expected, but Raven has a plan. We’ll have a quickie marriage to secure her trust fund, be together three months tops, then shake hands and walk away.

The only problem is with every late night I spend chatting with my wife or consummating our marriage (which we both agreed was a bad idea) or rocking my baby girl to sleep or yes, even changing poopy diapers, the stronger our bond grows.

It never rains in California, there’s no football (for me) in south Alabama, but when you collide with a cyclone, everything changes, including what you thought were your plans.

(THE WAY WE COLLIDE is a small-town, surprise baby, sports romance with a marriage of convenience, close proximity, an over-protective alpha daddy, a feisty plus-sized FMC, and a few twisters. No cheating. No cliffhanger. No third-act breakup.)

This was such a sweet & swoony romance. I love the friends to lovers, marriage of convenience.
Hendrix & Raven are so sweet together. They are both trying their best to make their new dynamic work, and keep feelings out of the equation, but when you have a precious little girl in the mix, feelings are sure to flow.
I really loved that neither one of them had to give up their dreams for the other.
This was such a swoony romance, filled with friendship, family, healing, love, passion and chemistry.

Raven and Hendrix were dreamy. This book was such a feel good, lighthearted listen!
Raven was feisty and followed her own path against what was expected of her.
Hendrix was the baby brother, the young Bradford that everyone looked after but that could not understand why their older brothers would give up their NFL careers for love/family. Until it happened to him and his whole life was put into perspective. He had such growth in the book.
Having listened to the previous books I already knew what was expecting Hendrix when he was summoned home. I would have liked to have read/listened to Raven’s perspective as well on this part of the book. I think it would have given us even more to love about Raven.
The narrators were so good. Stefanie Kay as Raven really brought her spirit and protectiveness to life; Aaron Shedlock delivered a 5 star surprise girl daddy.

This is the fourth book in The Bradford Boys Series. I love this series! It's a beautifully written small-town, second-chance sports romance. Hendrix and Raven's story is sweet, funny, and heartwarming. Raven is a beautiful feisty plus-sized character. She is smart, strong, and determined. Henrix is handsome, and protective. Some scenes are hilarious! The supporting characters are great. I liked the friendship in the story. It's a beautiful marriage of convenience romance. Aaron Shedlock and Stefanie Kay did an excellent job bringing these characters and this story to life. I enjoyed it.

Hendricks Bradford is everything I hoped he’d be. He may not be prepared for his world to flip upside down but the way this man steps it up is a beautiful journey. From the very start he not only saw Raven but adored her. Unlike so many in her life who tore her down, he revelled in every curve and was obsessed with them. He is exactly the self-esteem boost that every woman deserves. I truly appreciated the focus on body positivity, shutting down the naysayers and loving yourself. I adore the Bradford family, their bond is everything. A marriage of convenience of never convenient and the chemistry between these two makes that plan’s failure inevitable. All the baby moments with ‘cute as a button’ Hadley wee such tender and adorable moments, I thought my ovaries might burst. I always find myself completely and totally wrapped up in a Bradford story and this was a one sitting obsession.

I thoroughly enjoyed the deep tenor of Aaron Shedlock’s voice and the way he carried off the teasing, playful moments. Stefanie Kay has just the right tones that I pictured for Raven. Her vulnerability, insecurity and her strength all come through with equal force. These are both new to me narrators and I greatly enjoyed their reading.

The Way We Collide is book 4 in The Bradford Boys series and is about Hendrix Bradford and Raven Gale. Hendrix is an NFL player, and football is the one and only love of his life. Raven has big dreams of becoming a meteorologist. They meet at Hendrix’s sister’s wedding and they have instant chemistry. After a hot night together, they go their separate ways and back to their individual lives. But fate has other plans for them (lol). Months later, Hendrix is unexpectedly called back to his hometown by his family. There he finds the very woman he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about. But what’s more unexpected is that she’s not alone. Despite being a new mother, Raven still intends to make her dreams of being a meteorologist happen. She makes a proposal for Hendrix that will give her the help she needs with their baby whilst she works on her goals by getting temporarily married to access her trust fund. But could this temporary arrangement turn into something more?

This book was everything I needed! I loved seeing Raven and Hendrix get to know and help each other as they co-parent. I especially loved seeing Hendrix grow as a person. He begins the book maintaining that he will never give up football and that it is all he cares for and wants to focus on. However, as the story progresses, you see him take on the new challenge of being a father. He instantly loves his little girl and becomes the protective doting dad she needs, learning and figuring out how to care for her. Throughout all this, he also falls for Raven and takes care of her, finding ways to support her career dreams and aspirations. All while still being able to have his football career grow even further. I loved how he realised he didn’t need to choose between his career and his romantic/family life; he just needed to create space for his new reality. As for Raven, she was such an intelligent and strong woman also bringing the sass. What I loved most about her was how caring she was for the people around her. She had a difficult childhood with her parents and she was determined to protect her sister from this, as well as not repeat this circle with her own daughter. She was truly an amazing woman!

Together, these two were incredible with such a great connection! In this story, Tia Louise gave us undeniable chemistry, sweet and tender moments, with some steaminess sprinkled in, and characters with real emotions that you cannot help but root for.

If you love small-town, surprise baby, close-proximity, sports romance, with a marriage of convenience… that includes strong FMCs and swoon-worthy MMCs that are just absolutely obsessed and will take care of their heroine then you absolutely have to pick this up!

Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Stefanie Kay. They were both wonderful as Hendrix and Raven respectively, and helped elevate this story with their performances. I loved listening to them bring these characters and their romance to life.

You can not help but love these Bradford boys and girl! Tia Louise puts her own unique spin on the marriage-of-convenience trope in the fabulous sports romance, a story that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings from start to end. The Bradford boys and girl are going down, one at a time, and this fourth book is Hendrix’s, the last of the brothers still playing professional sports and his sister’s friend Raven Gale‘s story. The two met at his sister’s wedding and they hit it off and spent the night together, a smoking hot and memorable night. Raven had life plans, going against her controlling mother and a father who never went to bat for her, choosing to pursue a career in meteorology, to become a weather girl, instead of joining the family business. Her plans had to be put on hold because of an unexpected pregnancy and birth of her daughter, Haddy. Hendrix openly admitted his love and sole focus was football, and did not have time for romantic involvements and relationships; but struggling financially, she avoids asking her father for help and instead forms a plan which depends on Hendrix’s cooperation. Hendrix already returned to California to prep for the new football season, but gets the call from his family to return home and as soon as he arrives, he sees why he needed to come home, just by looking into the baby’s eyes. After hearing Raven out, he agrees to her plan and that it would be a temporary arrangement, so she and Haddy go to California with him. It was great to watch this all play out and learn more about both of them, then see their relationship morph into something so much more. He was amazing with his girls, not so much with doing cleanups, which made for some hilarious scenes, but overall he was super protective of them both. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, some angst, humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Tia Louise, thank you for another fabulous story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧   Aaron Shedlock’s and Stefanie Kay’s duet performance is a treat for the ears and the brain, a captivating performance that keeps you glued to the story. Their portrayal of each character was spot on and I loved how they owned their roles, especially their take of the two leads, showcasing every aspect of their personalities and demeanor perfectly. Shedlock nailed it as Hen, from his diehard dedication to his sport to his protective caring side with his sudden family, and he did not lack humor, snark or quick thinking, snorkel and all. Kay was just as fabulous as Raven, brought out all her traits, from her insecurities, to the strength and determination. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and how you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a performance that takes the already amazing story to another level.  Thanks for another wonderful listen!
