He will predict your life...and your death.

Don’t ever cross his palm with silver.

He will reveal your most shameful secrets.

He will predict your death.

He is hiding a secret.

He is hiding a monster.

And all his predictions come true.

Investigating a series of chilling murders, Detective Jennifer Knight finds herself tracking a mysterious tarot card reader known only as The Raven.

As the death toll rises, Jennifer and her team build a picture of a serial killer on the edge of sanity, driven by dark forces. But these are not random killings. And the method behind the madness could be the most terrifying thing of all....

Especially when it seems the death of one of their own is on the cards.

Time to Die is an absolutely gripping serial killer thriller with a breathtaking supernatural twist.

Kept coming back to this but just didn’t find it engaging, eventually I persevered and got into it.

A masterpiece!

Quite simply this is one of the best books I've read recently, and I read a lot. The action takes you from one place to another, but you still can't work out the plot. I will read this again as some point. Very well written, and brilliantly narrated.

Gripping, suspenseful and chilling

Listening to this as an audio book, I twigged there was a previous book, delighted to discover a new series. But once started, I couldn’t let this go, an exciting, twisty thriller. The main perpetrator is a creepy old man, known as ‘the Raven.’ Armed with a deck of Tarot cards he seeks out his victims, exposes their dark secrets and predicts their death. But as the bodies pile up, it is up to the heroine of this series (Detective Jennifer Knight) to stop him before more people die, building in suspense to a nail biting race. Interwoven in the present day story, I enjoyed the snippets of Bert's backstory. A tortured soul, he evokes a little sympathy, as the beast inside him grows. Great book with a good twist at the end.

Rubbish ending

This is the second book I have listened to by this writer and she seems to have trouble rounding off her stories - naturally, she knows who dunnit (and why) but does not share all the relevant information so that the listener is bombarded with information of the "wait, what, when did she mention that" variety during the last 20 minutes of the story ... otherwise it's an intriguing "paranormal" police procedural with likeable characters ...
The narrator is annoying, with lots of vocal tics, but bearable at 1.25 speed ...

Enjoyable listening

This book is enjoyable listening, I like the way the characters have formed their relationships and the story has many twists and turns to keep you listening. I just didn’t want it to end…..more please.

I just couldn’t get into this book

I can listen to an audiobook in a few days. This has taken me two weeks. Kept losing interest and having to re listen to chapters again and again. I ended up listening to the last 10 chapters while cleaning the kids bedroom. Felt disappointed and I didn’t like the ending either. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this book.

Great Story

I loved the book, the story was great but the narration just didn’t match the characters portrayed in the story.

Dreadful narration

I did try but I couldn’t listen to this anymore. As If the narration wasn’t bad enough the story was just weird and very boring. I did give it a good go to give it time to get better. I listen to audio books all the time and I really don’t like giving a bad review.

Lukewarm!

I shall always give a book a chance, and I did listen until the end, but I cannot say I enjoyed it. I knew within the first chapter, when I found myself analysing the writing style and found myself thinking, this writer has gone to a writing class which suggested using numerous adjectives, that I was not going to get along with the book. I did not enjoy the performance much either (if you are going to do an Irish accent, it helps to work out which side of the border the character comes from and stay there!!) So all in all, not a favourite and not one I would recommend.
