About this listen

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon's moved to New York City and is looking for excitement and passion without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night's fun. But the manner - and speed - with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows that Max Stella loves women, not that he's ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad-boy charm, it's not until Sara - and the wild photos she lets him take of her - that he starts wondering if there's someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

One of my fave books but man that accent is bad

I will immediately purchase anything by Christina Lauren-no brainier, they are brilliant. Sexy, witty and smart, they are engaging, current and manage to bed both some of the hottest stuff I've ever read, and also completely heart warming. Characters you fall in love with. Completely. I am charmed by Max and want to be Sara's friend. The performances by the two voice actors are believable and I very much enjoyed them when they are in their own heads. However, the woman doing Sara? Worst British accent I have ever heard. And I'm from London. It is so jarring, every time she has a line of Max's it's so jarring it throws me out of the story entirely. Total bummer. The male actor I assume can't do an American accent and thus doesn't try. I wish she had done the same. It would have been far better than the weirdness that comes out every time she's trying to be a Brit. Sorry! Didn't ruin it entirely as the book is too good for that. But it is most disconcerting and uncomfortable to hear. At least to my ear...

Once you've heard one you've heard them all

Story was good, some funny stuff.
Disappointing that the same female narrator is used for every book in this series. Grace G is a good narrator but very distinctive therefore should not be used in series that require you to disengage from a previous story. For me her voice was Chloes as that was the previous book, glad that at least they had a British narrator for the male lead.
Grace Grant should not read books that require an accent, she is very bad at them, esp. British. I can safely say that each time she tried I physically cringed - ruined the book for me.

British Max Does it Best

This was a great story until the last 45 minutes. Max was straight forward, no games or lies and gave Sarah everything she asked for and more. These cliche misunderstandings are so draining. Why build up a relationship just to trash it over a gossip article. How can a strong successful woman just be so damn gullible and jump to the worst possible conclusion with no solid evidence. She professes her love but the next day she sees a gossip story and right away jumps to think the worst of the man. So cliche. This would have been better then the first book in the series but the last 40 minutes just ruined it for me. Spoiled the whole book for me.

Story ok. Accent awful.

I’m sorry the English accent was just too bad to continue listening. I had to return this title. I can normally push through a questionable accents but this was just too awful.
