About this listen
A Ripple in Time: It started as a routine Miami to Charlotte flight for the passengers, crew, and Federal Air Marshal Stephen Mason. But a freak storm over the Atlantic propels the airliner unexplainably back in time to the early 18th century.
Finding a way back, if that's even feasible, is the least of their worries. Can they survive and adapt?
The Planters: It's 1720, Charles Town, Carolina Colony, a time and place fraught with hardships and hazards. Carving out a life here will be challenging, especially for these modern-day transplants. The plan is simple: grow, harvest, sell, and make life as comfortable as possible.
New to a new world, can Mason, Karen, Jeremy, and Lisa navigate the hard realities they are only beginning to understand?
The Punishers: It's now 1723, Charlestown, South Carolina Colony. Mason and the three other remaining survivors have built their rice plantation into a thriving enterprise.
But when an opportunity arises to revisit an old adversary, Mason embarks on a simple fact-finding mission. The risks are minimal until an unforeseen turn puts Mason and his families' future in jeopardy. With so much at stake, can Mason adapt and achieve his ultimate goal?

A super, heart felt emotive time travel story.
I thoroughly enjoyed these three books, which were beautifully narrated.
You really felt transported back in time and felt part of the story.
so sad it's finished. well done!

Well Researched Time Travel Trio
Overall a good collection of linked books (3 books in total) by Victor Zogg, an author I'd heard nothing of previously. No spoilers other than to say that the story and the history related to it had clearly been subject to considerable research by the author, but some considerable editing would have been beneficial; a propensity to repeated 'he said', 'he said', said "character", she said, and over and over again. That should have been edited out - certainly as an audiobook it became wearying to the ear. Also a leaning towards explaining some things in minute detail, eg, the rigging of old ships; this may be wonderfully interesting if you're a rigging enthusiast, but to me...just a very basic, "square sail, right side" or similar would have sufficed. I can understand how such details could bog down an author though when research is intensive. I'm marking the story as 4 stars for this reason and not for any real failings in the story.
Narration was five stars, consistently well done, the voice is easy on the ear and not once did I think "oh no not this bloke again...".
if you like time travel with hard won research in the mix, this collection of books might be a good one to try.

Not brilliant, but enjoyable
An interesting if overlong romp through an original time travel story.
Very effectively brings many things to life, including the lives of early colonists, sailing the oceans, plantations, American settler towns and more. Period detail is well researched.
There are one or two very convenient plot wrinkles that allow the story to be moved along, but they’re not too clunky.
Characterisation is good - by the end one cares about what happens to the people depicted.
Most of all the narration is superb and utterly credible. Quite a feat in a three novel collection.
Well worth a listen.

A slow starter but a great finish
The first book took a while to get interesting but towards the end it started carrying on in books 2&3 taking you on the journey with Stephen Mason and his friends and fo’s most enjoyable read

Good but could have been better
The story line was good, but the last chapters were rushed and characters that you were invested in failed to be mentioned, which spoiled it for me. The constant he said , she said in the narrative gets very very repetive

Indistinct narration.
The narrator's voice was difficult to understand sometimes, particularly when using the names Mason and Nathan. This made it hard to distinguish which character was being referred to.

Good storyline
It was a good storyline well narrated, however the ending was a bit abrupt, perhaps a little more on the return but a good listen all the same.

Excellent
I loved the dynamics and the way you really were back 300 years ago when the USA was a young country and pirates were a real danger.

the narrator was brilliant
The story was irritating and dull.
lazy writing, one dimensional characters with "filling out pages" of pointless dialogue.
The narrator is the only reason to remotely consider this utter dross.
