Summary

Is John Milton on the path to redemption or the road to revenge?

John Milton has done some bad things in his life. Very bad things. Now he’s looking for ways to make amends. But trouble always seems to be looking for him.

Heading from San Francisco to Las Vegas, Milton’s solo road trip takes an unexpected turn when he picks up Jessica Russo, a young woman in distress at the side of the road. She urgently needs a ride, and he’s happy to help her out.

But what starts out as a simple favour quickly becomes something more sinister. Once they get to their destination, it’s clear something isn’t right. Working for the Vegas casinos has got Jessica’s father wrapped up with the wrong people. A mistake that could prove fatal for him and his family.

This is just the beginning of a dangerous journey that will take Milton from Sin City to Siena and beyond. As Milton goes deeper into a world of violence, ruthlessness and revenge, will he finally put his demons to rest? Or is he about to awaken the devil he’s been trying to smother for so long?

Another Winner

Be Aware This Is What You Might Call Part One....

Whilst a great listen once again it stops suddenly - which of course is obvious in a real book and probably with an ebook.

looking forward to "the man who never was".

Thank you Mark, keep em coming.

No let up for John Milton

Poor John. He attracts trouble like iron filings to a magnet. I so want his life to be a bit more normal but I suppose I wouldn’t read those books. Keep doing what you do John, o am a huge fan (and the narrator is brilliant, makes you feel like you know John).

Miltons folly

Great story but “The exchange” was poorly considered by Milton, not his usual style! Disappointing for a man so capable of predicting consequences!

John Milton helps a pretty girl...

But it doesn't end the way you think it would or might like. Having read all of John Milton so far, this is one of the best, with JM back on form. Just a few characters to deal with and a good twistie story line. Good one Mark. Next please. 8/10

Best so far

I've enjoyed the Milton books, but I think this was my favourite so far. the plot keeps you guessing and takes less time to get going than some of the others

Bright Lights

It's a good tale but the implausible element is growing.

I think the hero, Milton is reckless with his friends' safety which is putting me off him. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the ending.
