You’ll feel very seen
This book is an amazing reminder that we all go through the motions. Some things in life can feel so isolating but when you then feel like others can relate to your internal struggles…that is really everything! This is an important book. Every woman and every man should read this or listen to it. Thank you, Laura Adlington, for your brave vulnerability and strength. I appreciate you!

Educational, heart warming and thought provoking. I loved it.
Loved hearing about Laura’s experiences which really resonated with me. As somebody be who’d had my body commented on my entire life, I thought that I was displaying positive body behaviours in front of my nieces, now I realise I have some work to do. ❤️

Life changing.
As a listener of the Go Love Yourself pod from day one, when Laura announced that she was writing a book, I was very excited. This book did not disappoint. Amazing. So much resonates with me. As a life long fat girl, who has struggled with disordered eating, I am on a mission. To take up space, accept my body and give it what it needs, and shun diet culture. This was everything I needed to hear. Thank you Laura.

The most relatable book ever
I loved listening to this, so much so I finished it in 5 days. It was super relatable, especially the mention about toxic diet culture and slimming clubs. As a woman in her 40’s I have been there more times than I care to imagine and lost loads of weight, only to put on even more months later! ‘Syns’ anyone?? Oh gosh it’s all so bad, and I remember my Mum saying that’s why she didn’t like SW as it felt like you were doing something wrong for eating certain ‘bad’ foods!
No doubt the book will get some negative attention, simply because of the topic at hand. But honestly, never before have I felt so seen than listening to Laura’s heartfelt account of her story and I’m sure that many others will feel like me too, that it could have been written by us, with all of the negative experiences that she has had to endure growing up a bigger child and adult. Definitely, me too!
Thank you Laura for sharing your relatable story, it makes me feel that I’m not alone in my experience of growing up in a bigger body and moves me more into accepting myself for who I am, like you say.. ‘my weight is the least important thing about me’ and this is now firmly etched into my mind, life and heart.
Never let your size hold you back from any experiences you want to have, or share.. and live your life to the full every single day. Thank you 🙏 🤍🤍🤍

Realistic, raw and honest
As an ex-SW member who has recently come out from the diet mentality, this was exactly what I didn't know I needed. Highly recommend

Laura's lovely voice and the powerful message of her book.
I loved this book. It takes a deep dive into why we often have such negative body image, made me realise that there has been so much societal influence on how I see myself and, most importantly, has made me be a bit more compassionate towards myself and my body. I highly recommend everyone reads this book, well done Laura!

what I wouldn't give to have heard this 15 years ago.
Laura has put into words all of the things that have been a struggle for me in a plussize body for my entire life. reframed them and reminded me of how much I should love my body. care for her and give her all the credit she deserves. growth and unlearning is not easy but with the right mindset the right company and a big old dose of courage, heres to taking our lives back again! xx

This is brilliant.
I listened to it all as soon as it was released. Laura is so interesting (and has nice clothes). Ideal for anybody who’s a victim of the sad step (scales). A must listen title.
