About this listen
Colonel James Raytak is about to die. The 93-year-old combat veteran is living his last days in a nursing home; his only hope for survival is an experimental Medpod life support system controlled by an artificial intelligence.
Co-developed by the world’s largest gaming company, Qualitranos the AI will also control the soon-to-be-released game Limitless Lands. Without its creator’s knowledge, the AI decides the best course of treatment is to import its patient’s consciousness directly into the game.
Colonel Raytak must dust off his military training and lead his virtual troops in a fight to repair his broken body and mind while exploring the Limitless Lands.

Haha so headings are definitely not optional
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and will likely get the next book in the series some time in the future. I enjoyed listening to the different perspective that the author presented in the book and will look into if there are any other audiobooks or books written by the author.

Nice difference style to the LITRPG seen
I really did like this book kinda a fresh take on the LitRPG. It’s more like a strategy RPG like the Banner lord video game,
it's a nice build to power book, With a decent enough plot to gibe the whole story some sort of meaning however there is no real stake at all in this book. Because they really are just in a Video game. For the MC he's really just killing time and doing what made him pround in his really life so it's kinda wholesome in a weird way. I'm in the army my self so i get where the book is coming from a lot of the time.
PS. Where’s the para’s or airborne as the yanks call them.

I was sceptical about it all
... but man was I supposed by both the story and the narration. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a soldier's side of navigation through VR Games unlike the normal "gamer kid" that are typically the main character.

Amazing book! Defo in my top 5 litrpg
This book is amazing. I planned to listen it for a couple of hours each day and ended up binge listening it in one run. The plot follows a unique levelling system and the story is just as unique. I love the MC and can't wait to see how he develops in the later books.
EDIT: On my second read. Need more!!!!

Great fun, slow start
This book starts a bit slow but after the first 1/2 dozen chapters I was hooked.
The book is an interesting mix of world building around Hayden’s Knoll, a frontier town in a game world and battle stories focusing on the main character, a veteran field commander.
