Quite the surprise
This book cover made me think about what can a battery have to do with depression but it's actually really well related to the book's content. Another surprise is chapter two where it covers food impact on your overall mental and gut health. Quite the eye opener this chapter is. I won't tell you what foods will have a negative impact on your love life lol The book has a chapter that covers mindfulness and tips and tricks around this. Structured and narrated well. It could be a great present for someone you genuinely feel needs it. Wall to wall packed with content and greet information around depression. I would most definitely recommend it. I would look forward to a follow up book from this author

Unique Perspective
I enjoyed this book as it gave perspectives on the causes of depression that I haven't seen in other books. I learned practical advice such as paying attention to your diet, especially gluten as your body may react poorly to it. The effect of sunshine, and vitamin D to energise you both physically and mentally was a very important point. Before listening I didn't consider the effect my sleep was having on me emotionally, and how easily I was getting distracted from it. Overall I feel like I have a greater handle on my emotions than I did before thanks to some of the tips found here, great listen!

Great book
This book has a very different perspective to other books on the subject. I really like how it stresses the importance of not letting small things spiral into bouts of depression. It gives some great strategies on managing stresses and training the body and the mind to respond in more positive ways to challenges of life that can otherwise bring us down.
Easy to follow with simple strategies

A potentially life changer!
As I went through several depression periods in my life unfortunately I know how hard it is to get through and build yourself up again. Last year was a tough year for me I was in really dark places and I needed help from outside to not end my own life.
Since then I feel much better but because of my mental condition, I'm afraid and a bit paranoid to be in that bad condition again. I'm so glad to find this audiobook which gave me so many good methods and ideas on how to deal with depression, it is a life-changer content and a life-saver book also!
I want to say a big thanks to the author to help people and especially me with this valuable quality content, a Definitely recommended book for whoever suffers from depression!

Excellent take on what causes depression
I love the way the author approaches this topic. Most attempts at describing depression include things that the person is doing wrong that is causing the depression or what drugs to take to fix the problem. Not this book. The author talks about simple changes people can make in order to avoid depression altogether. From getting more sunshine to exercising (OUTSIDE), to making sure that you are eating properly, this author covers it all. I really like his points in chapter 6 about defining boundaries and saying no to others when you need to make more time for yourself. Little things like that creep up on people over time until they feel overwhelmed and eventually depressed, but following this advice prevents a person from even getting to that point. This book is very well organized and simple to read and understand. Pick it up even if you AREN'T depressed! It is great advice to keep you from ever feeling that way.

Break Free of Depression
This is a very important book with a message many need to receive. Our lifestyle choices and environmental choices are major health concerns. Stress, anxiety and depression come in many forms as this book illustrates. All aspects of our lives need to be examined such as, dietary, social, and creative or lack thereof. We can learn of more holistic, natural, ways leading to more zest and true spiritual freedom in our lives. Make time for your interests as a priority, step back and recognize harmful habits, such as loss of sleep and patterns of overtaxing of our own brains. Realign your body and mind for sustained focus, clarity, and balance. You can find many of the tools you need in this book to thrive and be resilient against stress and depression.

A step-wise process for dealing with depression
This cover caught my attention right away because depression does feel like your battery is drained (the author gets it!). I listened to this in one day, soaking in the practical steps to treat depression. I believe medication can help certain people with clinical depression but often more is needed. This is it - an essential guide to treating all aspects with a focus on personal strength.
