OVER HALF A MILLION COPIES OF APPLE TREE YARD SOLD

The novel from Sunday Times bestselling author

Platform Seven at 4am: Peterborough Railway Station is deserted. The man crossing the covered walkway on this freezing November morning is confident he's alone. As he sits on the metal bench at the far end of the platform it is clear his choice is strategic - he's as far away from the night staff as he can get.

What the man doesn't realise is that he has company. Lisa Evans knows what he has decided. She knows what he is about to do as she tries and fails to stop him walking to the platform edge.

Two deaths on Platform Seven. Two fatalities in eighteen months - surely they're connected?

No one is more desperate to understand what connects them than Lisa Evans herself. After all, she was the first of the two to die . . .

Best book of 2022!!

This book is a fictional story which cleverly takes you, as an observer, into the dark places that some people inhabit. That maybe, at some time, many of us have experienced in our lives either personally or as a bystander. Yet despite its dark subjects it brings with it hope, peace, and understanding. It is rare that I read a book more than once, but I am sure this will be one of those exceptions.

very believable story line

So believable that for all I know, it could have sadly been based on really life events.

Well worth a read

The story was original ,very clever but not for everyone. I can understand why some people rated this low but personally I enjoyed the story but the middle went on for to long. Excellent narrator.

Excellent

I’ve read hundreds of books, but this had me transfixed. Very satisfying end which is often not the case. I shall look for others by this author

Difficult to score

Sometimes very uncomfortable listening and probably too long for the content - but interesting and I certainly wanted to hear how it ended.

Really enjoyed this!

Really liked the narrator, I think I could listen to her a lot. The story was good too- I have a problem with ghost stories where the ghosts can do all manner of things. I listened to this shortly after the death of my mother. It wasn’t anything like this but the book made me think a lot about what happens after death, for all concerned.

Average +

Some parts of it were excellent but other parts were boring. I didn't enjoy the bit about Angela and whatever his name was in the last chapter. I kept realising I had switched off and then having to go back. It also felt a bit preachy at times.
However, over all I enjoyed the narrative and thought it was an interesting angle for a story.

Utterly Confusing

This book is a real "bear with".. Whilst the performance is great, I struggled to keep up with the story as it jumps around with no real warning. Slightly predictable on the whole but not a terrible listen if you can make it to the end.

Original

Lisa’s story sweeps between the past present and future in a highly original manner. I was always sympathetic to her plight partially because of Olivia Dowd’s lovely narration. Not at all what I was expecting but all the better for that.
