Have I been under a rock? This is my first book by this author and it most defiantly won't be my last! I went into this blind, not knowing what to expect and I'm so glad I did. It was amazing and such a page-turner! I am a sucker for a dark mafia romance and to top it off it was a marriage of convenience trope this author delivered an addictive, all-consuming, dark and delicious story that had me on the edge of my seat the entire book.

The chemistry between Bastian and Morina was off the charts and they bounced off each other. Their banter was fun to read and kept my attention throughout the book. Shain's ability to write to create a world is amazing.

Fantastic romantic suspense!

Secrets always lead to problems. Morina found this out first hand. After a sensual one night stand with Bastian, the head of Italian mafia, she finds herself in a predicament. The death of her grandmother leaves her with a huge responsibility and in an arranged marriage with Bastian. But will it just be for the 6 months needed to fulfill the requirements of the will? Will it be all business? This is quite a story! Full of twists and turns, some suspense and surprises! Morina at times is definitely showing her naiveté, but she quickly learns and slowly finds her niche. Bastian is on a mission to clean up his businesses and Morina is his perfect distraction. The chemistry is off the charts, but while spicy, I love the budding friendship these two are building as the base of their relationship. This is a fantastic listen and one that should not be missed.

Narrated by the the talents of Mia Madison and Nelson Hobbs, we were in for a treat! Madison is perfectly cast as Morina. She can give the frustration out so easily in her, but also has her grow and mature as the story continues. Hobbs brings the protectiveness and leader in Bastian alive. He is strong, commanding and passionate. These two are a wonderful team and made for a wonderful listen.

I really enjoyed this!

I just finished the audiobook and really enjoyed it. The narrators were both great and really brought the story to life. This is a enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience story that is very well written. I really loved the opposites attract aspect also. Morina and Sebastian could not be more different. She is a quirky free spirit to his man in charge. They have amazing chemistry but fight it until the very end. This is an emotional story. I enjoyed it even though I wanted to shake some sense into both of them a few times.

Sweet and angsty

This was a grumpy / sunshine enemies to lovers romance.


This was equal parts sweet and spicy.

I love how the author portrayed the characters.

The storyline was super compelling and gripping.

The narrators were awesome!!

Excellent Mafia Romance!

OMG! I loved it! Morina and Bastian's story is complex, and entertaining. I liked the tension, the mystery, the secrets, the world building, and the unpredictable twists and turns. Bastian is a mafia boss, grumpy, and protective. We first met him in New Reign Mafia Duet Series. Morina is such a beautiful character, feisty, strong, and independent. They are opposites attract, and they are perfect together. The supporting characters are great. This is a an excellent Mafia Romance, and arranged marriage romance. Mia Madison and Nelson Hobbs did an outstanding job with the narration. They are perfect as Morina and Bastian. I enjoyed it.

I didn’t enjoy this. Very basic story. Nothing enthralling. Wasted a credit. All these reviews on here are by people who received the book for free. I can’t help but wonder how accurate these reviews are. . 🤦🏾‍♀️
