the mispronunciation of 'grimace'
Loved it, loved the narrator too despite her inability to pronounce some words, she had the right amount of haughty to her voice and dialect to be of the 'Ton'.
Great story, very well paced although saucy quite early on, the relationship was a steady slow build and very intelligently written. I really liked that she wasnt meek and that neither of them underwent personality transplants, she remained feisty and stubborn and in remained intractable - they just learned about each other and made allowances. Very refreshing for a book of this genre.

Another lovely book
Another great book from Stephanie Lauren's.I particularly like how she introduces different personalities at each book and then makes a fascinating story that fits their minds. This story had a very passionate match. At times the man was intensely suppressing for today's standards but then I try to remember we are talking about 200 years ago.. The ending was a bit abrupt and needed a bit more romance. But all in all a wonderful book.

An Interesting, Intriguing
A great story, a nod to the Cynsters and a good twist on the historical romance trope.
A do wish that the author didn’t use the word grimace in practically every sentence, because the narrator says it in a way that irritates me. (I wouldn’t pronounce it the way she does, so it grates).
Otherwise she did a great job.

Boring
In my opinion the first book of this serie is briliant but the second one is boring, without any action, much to long

Disconnected
The hero is an ex-spy, who is use to having everything under his control.
The heroine has been doing what she wanted. Her nearest relatives leave her unattended. Result she has an unrealistic idea of her abilities. Especially as she is stupid and unimaginative. She has a ridiculous prejudice towards the military.
Faced with real danger, she refuses help, walks into danger then expects to be save, by her dog or the hero.
The story starts well; then disintegrate into the unbelievable. Having reached the acquired number of pages, it is rushed. The guy who has been threatening everyone is suddenly a "puss- cat."
Hard to finish as it falls into the abyss.
