Summary

After being turned down by yet another employer, nurse Adele Cowen is in dire straits—her rent is due, her fiancé has abandoned her, and she has nothing left to keep her in New York. When a chance to marry the mayor of a small town in Texas arises, she jumps at the chance.

enjoyed

I enjoyed the narration of Kathleen Strecker, she brings out the action and makes the characters come to life.

Adele is a nurse and not able to find employment as a nurse, so decided to become a mail order bride . On the train to Texas the train is held up by a gang of outlaws. Adele administers aid to a man shot. She is taken by the thieves on horseback to treat one of the hand that has been wounded. She is in the middle of no where. She stumbles across another man that has been very badly wounded ,
