Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Rosie Result by Graeme Simsion, read by Dan O'Grady.

Meet Don Tillman, the genetics professor with a scientific approach to everything. But he's facing a set of human dilemmas tougher than the trickiest of equations.

Right now he is in professional hot water after a lecture goes viral for all the wrong reasons; his wife of 4,380 days, Rosie, is about to lose the research job she loves; and - the most serious problem of all - their eleven-year-old son, Hudson, is struggling at school. He's a smart kid, but socially awkward and not fitting in.

Fortunately, Don's had a lifetime's experience of not fitting in. And he's going to share the solutions with Hudson.

He'll need the help of old friends and new, lock horns with the education system, and face some big questions about himself. As well as opening the world's best cocktail bar.

Big-hearted, hilarious and exuberantly life-affirming, The Rosie Result is a story of overcoming life's obstacles with a little love and a lot of overthinking.

If you liked The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, and The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, then you'll love The Rosie Project series.

Loved it! I've really enjoyed the series so far.

Don Tilman, the main character is the best! The story was hilarious at many points and was awesome to listen to. It was also a great way to gain some understanding about autism and its nuances.

The voice acting definitely enhanced the story for me.

Amazingly insightful

Would recommend this to everyone. Whether on the spectrum or not (I am) this helps to understand “diversity” and how labels can skew things. The Medical Model has a lot to answer for (I’m a Medical Doctor) and as per people with disabilities changing the discourse I’m heartened to see this with the Autistic Spectrum. This has really helped me on my journey of realisation…

A fitting finale to a wonderful trilogy

I started listening to The Rosie Project a few years ago, then The Rosie Effect and now obviously The Rosie Result. Sometimes when a trilogy spans a few years something gets lost but not with the Rosie books. Each one is brilliant in it's own right and The Rosie Result caps off this trilogy perfectly.
Dan O'Grady's narration over all the characters is spot on through all the books and he gives such life to the cast that parade through these wonderful books.
The Rosie Result is a fitting end but I will miss Don, Rosie, Hudson and the rest of the characters immensely.

Don rides again!

Loved this every bit as much as books 1 and 2, and in fact I'm now off to read them both again. I always loved the insight into the Autistic mind and the idea is expanded very nicely in this book. Narration delivered with perfection I really couldn't imagine anyone else reading Don as well as this. If you like clever plot lines, characters and unexpectedly funny moments then dive into Don he won't disappoint.
