A rare gem of zombie fiction
Let me start by saying I HATE zombies that aren’t zombies - ie fast (why would death/decay ever IMPROVE physical condition?¿) or smart (because again, they’re dead).
Stickler that I am for undead literature, I absolutely love this book’s take on the pure, unhurried terror of classic zombies and the resulting social collapse that follows in their wake. Told from the perspectives of several characters, we know as much as they do as it all unfolds, and just like one would expect, no easy answers/explanations are given for just how this is possible or can be resolved.
Didn’t have my hopes up at first, but was pleasantly surprised by the well-paced plot, solid narration and evocative prose. Would definitely recommend to fellow zombie lovers!

I liked showing the apocalypse from the beginning.
I liked the characters good and bad. I liked the grisly details. How all the stories come together in the end. Great read

Loved it!
I love a good zombie book or film and this hits the spot. Yes it’s got all the usual tropes eg bites and noggings being bashed in but it also has believable characters and a we get a lot of backstories which I like. Plus it’s well read.

A Great Addition To The World Of Zombie Horror
To say I'm a huge fan of the universe of zombie apocalypse stories is a huge understatement! I was hooked from the moment I had my first experience of the undead when I watched the original Dawn of the Dead (which is still my all time favourite movie) and I'm pleased to say that Jacy Morris' Rotten World novels are a fitting homage to Romero's vision. The story of This Rotten World kicks into high gear from the first chapter and doesn't stop. I enjoyed every exciting minute of this audiobook, thanks to the author and the excellent narration. I had bought the first audiobook in the series and after listening to a few chapters I immediately bought the rest. A highly recommended book series.

A proper zombie apocalypse!
Don't expect a happy story about people finding themselves amidst the end of civilisation. This is a horror story. And a bloody good one too.
If you slow the reading down to 90% the narrator sounds a bit like Skinny Pete from Breaking Bad. And it lasts longer.

No one is safe. Anyone could have been killed at anytime. Great story.
The in depth individual details about each person, and their struggles during the fall of civilisation was great. And how they came together by chance. And the fact that no one was truly safe in this story. Anyone could have been killed at anytime. Great story.
