About this listen
Sarah Baker was the first girl I ever loved. It didn’t matter that we were high school sweethearts, our bond was unbreakable. Or so I thought.
I enlisted in the military to make a life for us and she promised to wait. Only, she crushed my heart, along with our dreams, when she married someone else.
Every inch of Wilder Valley is etched with memories of her, so I stay away, building a career for more than two decades.
But I can’t stay away forever.
When I return home, nothing is the way I expect it to be. My family has changed, but most surprising is discovering that Sarah is back too.
Separated from her husband, she’s raising her two teenage boys, living with her parents, and waiting tables at the diner.
Curiosity draws me to her, but that’s not what makes me stay. From the moment our eyes meet, the feelings I’d long forgotten come rushing back.
I’ve never loved anyone the way I’ve loved her. Maybe fate has brought us together again for a reason. Maybe finding each other too young was our only mistake. Maybe this is our second chance.
Aiden and Sarah’s book is the next standalone in the Wilder Valley series. This second chance, small town, single parent romance features a couple in their forties reconnecting after almost two decades apart.

Second chances!
WOW! I am a huge Kacey Shea fan, and this book is exactly why. Second chances, real life circumstances, and the best for me was it was mature adults. Aiden and Sarah were high school sweethearts, destined to be together forever. When Aiden signs up for the army, the two survive the three year contract only to find out that he signed to be an army ranger. Sarah decided immediately that living that life was not for her and they broke up. Now Aiden is back, years later to spend time with his ailing father only to find out Sarah is back with her two kids and has left her husband. Now Aiden sees this as an opportunity. He knows what he left, and he knows what he wants. But will Sarah be on board? After her marriage failed, she isn't sure what she wants to do, or if a second chance with Aiden is what she wants. This is an incredibly emotional story, with feel good moments, heartbreak and passion. The kids just add an extra feeling of realism as Sarah's life is layered and shows just how difficult and easy it all can be. Loved this story, and it's an amazing addition to the Wilder Valley series.
Two of my favorite narrators bring it all to life. Samantha Brentmoor and Robert Hatchet bring it with an amazing performance. Brentmoor instills so much emotion in her voice, as mom, as a waitress and as a desirable woman. Hatchet is that man, you know the one that can't be gotten out of her system. He is compassionate with his dad, and protective and sensual with Sarah. These two are always so good together and they created magic with this one.

Second chance swoon.
Brilliant story!!
It was very emotional for me to read, very realistic and relatable to me.
Sarah's character suffers from an illness that I also suffer with everyday and so I felt close to Sarah and what she goes through.
There aren't many people willing to understand Fibromyalgia and the impact it can have on a persons life.It has changed me in ways I never thought possible.Thankyou Kacey Shea for highlighting this illness in your story...and writing Sarah's suffering in such a respectful way.
Aiden and Sarah's romance is second chance after many years apart,it is both heartwrenching and wonderful.
They were high school sweethearts, but unfortunately it didn't last beyond that, when Aiden enlists in the military....Sarah marrys someone else.
Aiden stays away from the town he grew up in for years and when he comes back to town, fate plays a her part because Sarah is also living back in town.
Sarah is not where she wants to be in life living back with her parents, but she is no longer married and she needs to do what is best for her and her 2 boys...and what is best is not being with Gabe.
I think Aiden is a little bit lost after being in the military for so long and when he sees Sarah again its like no time has passed between them. The connection is still there strong and powerful as it ever was before. They are older now and there are children involved it's not just them anymore,so they have alot to work through.
Aiden is perfect book boyfriend material he is everything Sarah deserves after her horrible past relationship. They were always meant to be together, and I want my very own Aiden I Loved the way he loved Sarah and her boys.
This book is beautifully written and the story is addictive,I LOVE the Wilders clan and this town and I am thoroughly enjoying reading their journey's to find love.
Wild Mistake is a fantastic read.
I LOVED IT.!
5 Stars.
The audiobook version of this story is simply AMAZING I adored it.
The Narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Robert Hatchet is wonderful they are the perfect duo to portray Sarah and Aiden.
Their voice acting talent blew me away with the emotions they carried over and it made the characters come to life ..I was easily swept away with the story because Samantha and Roberts voices as Sarah and Aiden was totally animated and drew me in.I love audiobooks and this is one of the best ones I have listened to I thoroughly enjoyed it,you cannot replace human voices telling you a story and Samantha Brentmoor and Robert Hatchet are ideal examples of why human voices are the only choice to make when you listen to a book.I Loved their performances they are Excellent.,,a superb 5 star listen.
