Summary

Run. Hide. Live the good life online.

Early retirement looked so easy on paper. Steal eight million euros from a gangster. Hide inside an online game and enjoy the finer things in life as a bard until the danger had passed. Except Daniel messed up.

Now, the gangsters are in the game looking for him and he's stuck with an imbalanced character build in a dead-end starter village.

Can Daniel find his own place and a life worth living inside the World of Chains?

Pick up books one to three in this fantasy LitRPG series with a focus on mystery, social mechanics, and music.

great litrpg bokk

Great litrpg, enough crunch to make it fun, but not so much it got annoying. Definitely a must listen, planning on getting the next three in the series.

It’s a bard life!!

Take it easy and start kicking back in a relaxed life as a bard. We’ll all good intentions anyway. Soon our faithful bard needs help and a dusty little village is where he starts and falls in love with its history, setting and all the villagers. Soon they will need his help so he has to level up to make it happen. Great story rich characters, and a fantastic production by Soundbooth Theatre…
Well done all involved.

Spoony bard

Fun story, interesting world build, excellent performance by the narrators (as usual). Would definitely recommend if you like this genre.

Absolutely Fantastic Series

It's always refreshing to have an intelligent MC but what I like most about Daniel is that he's a balanced in realistic way. Capable of acts of selfishness and caring. all in all an excellently told beautifully crafted story of which I hunger for more!

Great slow burner LRPG!

I got this book because it was a soundbooth production, but the story really took me in. I love the take with a "weak" character class protagonist, and a buildup that takes its time to get him anywhere close to fighting shape.

Every skill level and character progression feels like an earned victory, instead of a rush to OP status. It's like playing many long nights of classic RPG with your favorite character and party again. There is plenty of time to get really invested in the world and the characters, and a minimum of character sheet recital keeps you more engrossed in the story.

I have already continued to book 4 and I hope book 5 will be ready soon!

Excellent narration. Engaging story and character development. I like the more moderate tempo.

Exceptional mediocracy on all fronts

The main narrator is very dull, barely has any range and its very easy to get confused who is saying what when he's narrating a conversation with 2 people.
The "inside videogame" also wasn't needed. He has fled into a videogame to escape someone who is after him, but it's literally not relevant or has any consequences what so ever. It's only mentioned in the first 30 minutes and never brought up again.
