excellent
I chose this after much looking on amazon for a genuine practical and ballanced book in this subject, which is an ocean. So glad i chose this one and now ive gone through it once i can start again practically putting these gems into place with the helpfull know how and why. I was once sceptical of this area of therapy but now im not because ive realised that it will benefit me for my own emotional, cognitive and daily life needs to be a more healed, balanced and whole one as i allow Jesus and Holy Spirit to work on, in, through and for me for me to live fruitfull with vitality, meaning and joy. He led me to this book and to the HNC Counselling course im also on with Destiny College, Glasgow. Thankyou to the author for being humble and virtuouse reaching out to many in such need of being poor within and to my amazing heavenly Father and friend in Jesus my good shephard, healer, deliverer, saviour, shalom, protection, provider, teacher and victory over chaos, death and rebelliiuse wrong living and thinking. Hes the Lord over all, from where my help comes so whom should i be afraid!? I pray The Lover of our souls visits, speaks, reveals, touches, heals and saves your souls and lives too. John3:16. The Lord bless and keep you and give you His shalom peace! Numbers6:24

Dry Delivery
I tried to give the book a chance but had to quit halfway into Chapter 4 as I realized that none of what I had been hearing was sticking. The reason for that is the narrator speaks in a detached drone similar to that of a news anchorman. While that may work for news delivery, where listeners move from one sentence to the next without much investment, the same cannot be said for this audiobook, where one would need to fully focus on what is being said. Funny enough, I bought this hoping to learn CBT to help with my ADHD but forcing myself to focus on this was just painful.
Tldr; Might be better to get the printed version of this book instead

Useful material, abysmal delivery
You know how it can be weird listening to a song where the lyrics don't match the tone/melody of the music? Like the lyrics don't really mean anything and they are only there to deliver a melody? That's what this audiobook is like.
The narrator has a specific tone and melody that they are determined to apply to every single sentence, and whatever the words mean is irrelevant. Some words get emphasized for no reason whatsoever. Some words get streched out. It seems that the narrator doesn't even know what the word is still midway into pronouncing the word.
I switched the speed to 1.5 to hide some of this, but it was still very hard to listen. I would absolutely not recommend this as an audiobook. I'm pretty sure that the material is quite good in written form. But even there this book seems to be lacking depth. I know some of the concepts and exercises are really good, but the superficial way they are presented don't make it very likely to be properly applied here.
