About this listen

On the day we choose our wedding rings, my fiancé vanishes into thin air.

My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year.

Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved.

We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it.

I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Keeps you guessing to the end

Great book! Can’t say too much because it will spoil it for anyone else who wants to read it.

Parts were predictable, but still enjoyable

I had guessed one of the plot lines very early in the book, but still enjoyed nonetheless.

Jury Still Out!

Admittedly a diff approach to the ‘missing person’ theme but I did skip parts which were predicable & i’. Aware but. Otcomfortable with the lengths that jealousy can drive us humans too

interesting story.

it's an interesting insight into how someone feels about a missing person and their struggle.
it keeps you guessing until the end.
I didn't see the end coming. in many ways the story is realistic.

Great Story, fantastic performance

I would have given 5 stars but I really didn't like the end.
A really great story with believable characters but the end was disappointing in my opinion.

Enjoyable

This was a good easy listen, had me hooked (although I guessed the end). Listened to it within a couple of days! My only negative is that it’s slightly repetitive, at times that got a bit irritating.

Disappointed by the ending

This book would have been a 5/5 if not for the disappointed ending. Spoiler alert - to build up the whole story from eves perspective only to have her killed off in the end. I was screaming at my phone! I felt like I’d just wasted so many hours for what? And johns moving to Seville to become a waiter? Leaving his cancer stricken mum? I just couldn’t get on board with it. I feel like the ending was rushed but this book had SO much potential. I really enjoyed the other characters and the narration. The who dunnit build up was excellent…until it wasn’t.

Had me hooked.

It’s a different take on a missing person story. It had me hooked and I listened walking the dogs, doing housework or even driving the car . I did not like the ending at all and feel it was totally wrong also why would they have the final scene and confrontation there ? It doesn’t make sense . Some of it I guessed. Jealousy is a dangerous emotion. There needs to be a sequel . The end was a cop out.

Great plot

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of twists and kept me guessing throughout. Rather sad ending though.
