About this listen
Libby has a nice life with a gorgeous husband and a big home by the sea. But over time she is becoming unsure if Jack has ever loved her – and if he is over the death of Eve, his first wife.
When fate intervenes in their relationship, Libby decides to find out all she can about the man she hastily married and the seemingly perfect Eve. Eventually Libby stumbles across some startling truths about Eve, and is soon unearthing more and more devastating family secrets. Frightened by what she finds and the damage it could cause, Libby starts to worry that she too will end up like the first woman Jack loved. . .Tense and moving, The Woman He Loved Before explores if the love you want is always the love you need – or deserve.
©2011 Dorothy Koomson (P)2011 Headline ReviewWith The Woman He Loved Before I've read or listened and enjoyed all of Dorothy Koomson's books. The quality of story, characters etc is consistent in every book. I like her style of writing which tells the story from different perspectives. The twists and turns in the story are refreshing in oh so many books they are either predictable, unrealistic or foced with a scrabble to tie things up before the end and I'm left wondering why something that seemed an important part back in Chapter 10 is ignored and not resolved - not so with Ms Koomson's books she pays attention to the detail and nothing is ever quite what you think her story flows as a result.
Adjoa Andoh has a beautiful voice not only easy on the ear but pleasing to the ear. Her narration... like the book... just flows. She tops my list as my favourite female narrator and is absolutely the perfect voice for Ms Koomson's books.
Good Book - Good Narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would. The story has enough twists and turns to keep you listening and wondering what will happen.Who was your favorite character and why?
Libby, she had a strength to her underneath her vulnerability. What about Adjoa Andoh’s performance did you like?
She is so clever to produce different accents and subtly different voices. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I liked a daily dose.Any additional comments?
I recommend this book and probably got more out of it on audible than I would if I had read the story myself. An interesting story

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I did find the speed and intensity of the male character falling in love with the female character a little unrealistic. What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I enjoyed the part describing the characters life as a call girl.Did the narration match the pace of the story?

One of the best books I have read this year.
I found it odd how all the women felt like they needed to protect Jack from his father; as though he was he was too fragile to handle it.
great book!
